The Pony's Tale
The Pink Pony - Its life story is plenty colorful, beginning in 1902 as a cafe in the renowned Chippewa Hotel on Mackinac Island. A popular gathering spot that soon made a splash, the bustling cafe evolved into a cocktail lounge in the 1930s. Following Prohibition, it took on its lighthearted , new name. the Pink Pony...an endearing nod to Mackinac's best friend: horses!
Today, friends tell friends "Meet me at the Pony" to enjoy a beautiful harbor view, live music, and the famous rum runners at Michigan's most iconic bar.
